Riverside - Regeneration

Regeneration

We are always seeking to renew our housing stock and improve housing choice for our tenants. Our regeneration work falls into a number of distinct streams:

• Estate regeneration: We work with private developers to replace housing stock on larger estates, with modern housing, for rent and sale. Examples of
this include Beechwood, Wirral and
Halton Brook, Runcorn (PDF below).

• Housing Market Renewal: We are playing a lead role in masterplanning work in older urban areas that are showing signs of market failure. We assist in delivering strategies which bring about the regeneration of whole neighbourhoods. An example of this is our ongoing work in Fiveways, Rock Ferry. (PDF below)

• The development of new housing solutions, especially around housing with support: This Division has led the way in developing ‘extra care’ housing for the frail elderly, in addition to developing innovative schemes for autistic adults and other adults with learning difficulties.
