Riverside - Housing association is successful in bid for new housing development in Hallbankgate
29 January 2010
Riverside Carlisle has today been granted permission to build a new housing development at Hallbankgate near Brampton.
Riverside Carlisle secured grant funding for the site earlier this year and is now pressing forward with its plans to provide 7 units for rent and 3 for shared ownership.
Rebecca Kenvyn is Project Officer at Riverside Carlisle and has been involved in the planning of this development. She said, “We have carried out consultation at this site and have adjusted our plans in line with the feedback that we have received. We have had a good level of interest from people that would want to live in these properties and so we know that there is a demand for them. As a Housing Association we are committed to proving good quality, affordable housing and we are particularly pleased that we can now help to provide affordable housing for people in an area where they may otherwise not have been able to afford.”
She added, “It is hoped that we will be able to start provisional work on site before the end of March 2010 with the properties completed by the end of the year.”
