Riverside - Out with the old, in with the new
11 November 2009
Riverside is continuing its rejuvenation of the Deysbrook neighbourhood in Liverpool with two new developments.
The social landlord has just built seven three-bedroom houses and six two-bedroom flats in Exford Road.
Another development of two three-bedroom houses, 14 two-bedroom flats and 15 two-bedroom bungalows off Melwood Drive is due to be completed by February next year. | | The new build homes have strong environmental credentials and are equipped with the latest solar panel technology, bird boxes, bat boxes, bike sheds, ladybird boxes, and water harvesters.
Gail Johnson has just moved into her brand new bungalow in Halcombe Road from her previous property in a block of flats in Deysbrook Lane, which are planned for demolition.
She said: “I lived on Deysbrook Lane for 22 years. I enjoyed living there, it was a friendly environment but as I got older and developed arthritis I couldn’t manage the stairs very well. This property is fabulous and has already made a really big difference to my quality of life. I love the rain water harvester and have already been able to use it to water my house plants. | | Neighbourhood Housing Officer Laura Grace said: “As the lead social landlord in Dovecot and Deysbrook, we are firmly committed to the ongoing regeneration of the area and to transforming the lives of our tenants.
“We are also continuing with the regeneration of our neighbourhoods with the demolition of properties in Ancroft and Moss Gate Road set to be completed by January 2010.” | |
