Riverside - Governance

Joy Baggaley, Group Deputy Chief Executive

We know that effective governance is crucial. That’s why it’s included in all aspects of our work.

Our strategy in designing Riverside has been to ensure that:

  • we maintain our effective governance by employing competent individuals, with a mixture of knowledge and skills to carry out their respective roles.
  • our structure enables a diverse way of working and encourages growth by helping to include new organisations and partnerships.

At the centre of Riverside is a new parent body, whose role is to provide a clear Group direction and policy, so that the day-to-day management of Group companies is left to the individual boards.

Riverside complies with the National Housing Federation's Code of Governance. The Board and Committees have terms of reference and clear statements of members' roles and responsibilities.

The role of our board and committee members is crucially important in providing strategic direction and to ensure we maintain the Group's values. The members give freely of their time and expertise to ensure that the highest standards of accountability and integrity are upheld throughout the entire company.
